Hi, I’m Kate McAulay – founder of The Bronze Bar.

I’m a professional makeup artist and hairstylist with over 15 years of experience in the beauty and performance industry, and the proud creator of The Bronze Bar, a luxe mobile spray tanning and glam service based in Pukekohe and serving South Auckland and beyond.

My journey began at 15, working behind the scenes in theatre makeup. Since then, beauty and creativity have always been part of my DNA—whether I’m styling a vintage-inspired bride, glamming up a client for an event, or creating a flawless, customised tan that makes someone feel radiant in their own skin. I officially launched The Bronze Bar in 2023 with one mission:
To make people of all ages, sizes, and identities feel beautiful, confident, and celebrated.

After a year and a half living in Brisbane, I returned home in early 2025 with a fire in my heart and a vision to take The Bronze Bar to the next level. When I’m not making people glow, you’ll find me working in billboard advertising—so trust me, I know a thing or two about standing out and making a lasting impression!

Whether you're prepping for a wedding, event, photoshoot, or just want to feel like that person (guy, girl—or anywhere in between), I bring warmth, professionalism, and a touch of glam to every appointment. I specialise in inclusive, body-positive beauty experiences with an alternative edge—and my clients often leave feeling like they’ve made a new friend.
